Payment of Resident Tax Individual Portion 6,000 KRW: Confirm Basic Tax Amount and Floor Area Tax for Sole Proprietors and Corporations Before Payment
Mapo-gu (Mayor Park Gang-su) has launched an active campaign urging residents to pay their regular August resident tax on time.
The payment targets are household heads residing in Mapo-gu, as well as individual business owners and corporations with business establishments in the district. The tax reference date is July 1.
The individual resident tax that household heads must pay is 6,000 KRW.
For individual business owners, the basic tax amount is 62,500 KRW, and for corporations, it ranges from 62,500 KRW to 250,000 KRW depending on the size of the capital. However, if the total floor area of the business establishment exceeds 330㎡, an additional 250 KRW per 1㎡ must be calculated and reported for payment.
Although taxpayers must directly report and pay the business establishment portion of the resident tax, Mapo-gu has sent out payment slips collectively on August 1 for convenience.
If the tax amount on the payment slip matches the amount to be reported, payment through the slip by the deadline will be considered as having been reported.
If the total floor area tax amount on the payment slip differs from the actual usage status, taxpayers must report and pay directly via the Internet e-Tax system.
The business establishment portion of the resident tax can be paid from August 1, and the individual portion from August 16 until September 2.
Resident tax can be paid by transferring to the dedicated account listed on the payment slip, or through e-Tax, STAX (Seoul City tax payment app), or simple payment service apps.
If online payment is difficult, taxpayers can visit commercial banks, use ARS, account transfer (only Shinhan Bank available), or credit card payment.

Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo-gu, said, “Resident tax is a valuable resource for a better life for Mapo residents,” and added, “Mapo-gu will do its utmost to ensure that not a single won of tax is wasted in improving the quality of life for residents.”
