According to the "National Team Operation Guidelines" submitted by the Badminton Korea Association to Kang Yoo-jung, a member of the National Assembly's Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee from the Democratic Party of Korea, on the 11th, the regulations that athletes must follow during their life and training inside and outside the athletes' village include "obedience to the instructions and orders of coaches" and "absence from training or leaving the training venue is not allowed without the permission of the responsible coach."
On the other hand, Kang stated that the National Archery Association's national team operation regulations define athletes' duties only as "compliance with instructions related to performance improvement" and "compliance with instructions for the protection of legitimate human rights and safety."
In a press release, Kang said, "Even in the military, the scope of obedience to orders is limited to 'orders related to the superior's official duties.' The clause in the Badminton Association that requires obedience to all instructions and orders from coaches is outdated and anti-human rights," and insisted that the clause should be revised.
