LG Electronics Launches New All-in-One Robot Vacuum Cleaner Model
LG Electronics is launching a new integrated robot vacuum cleaner that not only vacuums dust and mops floors but also includes mop washing and drying functions.
On the 11th, LG Electronics announced that it will release the integrated robot vacuum cleaner 'LG Roboking AI All-in-One' on the 15th and offer an appliance subscription service.
The LG Roboking AI All-in-One provides an 'All-Free Solution' that automatically completes everything from dust vacuuming and mopping to mop washing and drying once the cleaning start button is pressed or a reservation is set.
The new product features AI autonomous driving performance that finds the optimal route and maps it using LiDAR sensors and an RGB camera.
It recognizes about 100 types of objects to avoid obstacles and can overcome door thresholds up to 20mm high. When it detects a carpet during cleaning, it lifts the mop and increases suction power.
With a powerful suction motor capable of a maximum vacuum pressure of 10,000 Pa (pascals), it effectively cleans floor dust, and the mop rotating at 180 rpm cleans floor stains efficiently.
In particular, the LG Roboking AI All-in-One focuses on odor and hygiene management, which are considered drawbacks of integrated robot vacuum cleaners. It has developed a proprietary cleaning agent to reduce odor from the wastewater tank, which is automatically sprayed during mop washing and managed with hot air drying.
According to tests by the certified testing agency Intertek, using this dedicated cleaning agent can reduce the generation of unpleasant-smelling sulfur compounds (methyl mercaptan, dimethyl disulfide) by about 30%.
The LG Roboking AI All-in-One was jointly developed and manufactured (JDM) by LG Electronics and China’s Silver Star Group, which has specialized capabilities in the robot vacuum cleaner field.
The new product applies LG’s standard security development process (LG SDL) to ensure security safety. Data is encrypted to thoroughly prevent illegal leaks and other issues.
The product lineup consists of two models: one with an automatic water supply and drainage kit connected to a direct water pipe, and a freestanding model without the kit. The automatic water supply and drainage kit model can also be built-in installed under kitchen sinks or storage cabinets.
It is also available through LG Electronics’ appliance subscription service. Subscribers receive regular visits from care experts who provide services such as steam cleaning of the automatic water supply and drainage kit and wastewater tank, dustbin cleaning and filter replacement, and replacement of basic brushes and mops. Free repairs are supported during the subscription period.
Baek Seung-tae, Vice President and Head of the Living Solution Division at LG Electronics’ H&A Business Division, said, “We are launching an all-in-one robot vacuum cleaner that offers a new level of cleaning through AI autonomous driving as well as hygiene management using a cleaning agent. It will free customers from household chores and allow them to spend their remaining time more valuably.”
