7,000 Attend at Changwon Indoor Gymnasium

The 8.15 Special Revival Meeting commemorating the 79th anniversary of Liberation, co-hosted by the Gyeongnam Christian Federation and the Gyeongnam Seongsiwa Headquarters, was held successfully at 3 p.m. on the 11th at Changwon Indoor Gymnasium, with the participation of about 7,000 church members from all over the province.
The 8.15 gathering was attended by Governor Park Wansu, Superintendent Park Jonghun, Changwon Mayor Hong Nampyo, as well as National Assembly members Yoon Hanhong, Choi Hyeongdu, Kim Jongyang, Heo Seongmu, Lee Jonguk, and Seo Iljun. Heads of various organizations, Christian leaders, and believers also attended, participating in the worship service and special programs.
Before the worship service, which was led by Park Seokhwan, Senior Vice President of Gyeongnam Christian Federation, there was a pre-event program where Lee Kyeongeun, Senior Pastor of Jinju Chodae Church, presented the Abad Scholarship?donating 100 million KRW annually to the next generation of Christians. Ha Chungshik, Chairman of Changwon Hanmaeum Hospital Foundation, also presented a 20 million KRW annual donation to support the co-growth of struggling churches.
Following the opening declaration by Lee Changgyo, President of Gyeongnam Christian Federation, the worship event featured praise by the WeLove Worship Team and a choral praise of “Hallelujah” performed by a 1,500-member united choir conducted by Deacon Kim Seongeon of Masan Jeil Church, which resonated throughout the indoor gymnasium.
In his sermon, Ji Yongsoo, Emeritus Pastor of Changwon Yanggok Church, emphasized that “as the Republic of Korea marks the 79th anniversary of Liberation, it will create an opportunity for revival once again.”
Meanwhile, the event also included a congratulatory address by Governor Park Wansu and a welcoming speech by Mayor Hong Nampyo. In the special program commemorating Liberation Day, all attendees sang the national anthem together and participated in three cheers for the nation.
