Seocho Culture and Arts Center to Host 'Summer Classic Fantasy' Performance on 13th-14th

Seocho-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Jeon Seong-su) will hold the ‘Summer Classic Fantasy’ at the Seocho Culture and Arts Center on the 13th and 14th.

Classic Fantasy is an annual autumn music festival organized by the Seocho Cultural Center to make classical music more accessible. This year, it has been prepared as ‘Summer Classic Fantasy’ to allow residents to experience the state-of-the-art sound system newly installed last month at the Seocho Culture and Arts Center.

On the 13th, the theme is ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream,’ featuring a performance by ‘I MAESTRI,’ an ensemble of South Korea’s top male opera singers. Known as the Voice Orchestra, ‘I MAESTRI’ performs passionately and emotionally on stages worldwide.

On the 14th, Puccini’s greatest masterpiece, the opera ‘Madama Butterfly,’ will be performed. This performance features Korea’s leading opera conductor Yang Jin-mo, the New Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Noi Opera Chorus. The tragic and beautiful opera ‘Madama Butterfly’ will dramatically portray its heartbreaking love story, captivating the audience’s hearts.

Last month, the district remodeled the Seocho Culture and Arts Center into a cutting-edge cultural facility where vivid sound and stunning visuals can be enjoyed. It introduced the ‘Immersive Sound System,’ which provides surround effects and three-dimensional sound, and the ‘Variable Reverberation System,’ which adjusts the hall’s reverberation to create an optimized acoustic environment. This makes it the first venue in Korea capable of implementing both systems simultaneously.

Additionally, the Seocho Cultural Center will hold a humanities lecture series called ‘Different Academy.’ On the 12th at 3 p.m., poet Na Tae-joo will give a lecture titled ‘Life Scenery with Poetry’ at the Seocho Culture and Arts Center.
