Mercedes-Benz Korea has announced its intention to donate 4.5 billion KRW to residents affected by the fire involving its electric vehicle that occurred in the underground parking lot of an apartment complex in Cheongna, Incheon.
On the evening of the 9th, around 7 PM, executives including Honor? Choukno, Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Benz Korea, and Kilian Tellen, Vice President in charge of Product, Marketing, and Digital Business, visited the accident site and met with the affected residents to convey this position.
At this meeting, they expressed their intention to provide emergency support of 4.5 billion KRW for damage recovery and the normalization of residents' daily lives, and offered consolation to the residents. Benz Korea explained that although the cause of the accident has not yet been determined, they decided to provide humanitarian support considering the unfortunate situation of residents unable to return to their normal lives.
Earlier, on the 7th, Benz Korea executives visited the site and discussed response measures with Lee Yong-woo, a member of the National Assembly from the Democratic Party representing the area. At that time, the executives stated that while investigations were ongoing, they would actively communicate with the affected residents on a humanitarian basis and fully support their needs. Subsequently, they prepared emergency support funds amounting to 4.5 billion KRW and visited the site on this day.
Immediately after the incident, Benz dispatched multiple experts from its headquarters to the site to accurately determine the cause of the fire.
