Return of Buldak... Samyang Round Square, Denmark Recall Withdrawal Celebration Onboard Party

Samyang Round Square announced on the 9th that it held the 'Buldak Spicy Ferry Party' in Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark, to celebrate the withdrawal of the recall of Buldak Bokkeummyeon.

For this event, Samyang Round Square launched a passenger ship decorated with a Buldak Bokkeummyeon theme at Copenhagen Harbor, where the iconic Little Mermaid statue of Denmark is located. The exterior of the passenger ship, accented in red and black, was embroidered with messages such as "Buldak has returned for the descendants of the Vikings," "We missed you all," and "Thank you to Buldak fans."

The Buldak Spicy Ferry carried 120 influencers and consumers and sailed along the Copenhagen canals for about three hours. When participants were recruited online in advance, more than 3,000 people applied, showing great interest.

On the Buldak Spicy Ferry, not only Buldak Bokkeummyeon but also a Buldak buffet was operated where participants could freely add their desired ingredients such as corn, shrimp, mushrooms, and bacon. Unique dishes like ice cream Buldak and Buldak omelets were also offered. In addition, a Buldak bar serving spicy cocktails, a DJ booth, dance floor, airbrush, and henna studio were set up to create a party atmosphere.

Choi Eui-ri, Executive Director of Brand Strategy at Samyang Round Square, said, "This event was not simply about food but was prepared to express gratitude and congratulations to everyone who shares a passion for and enjoys spicy flavors together." He added, "We plan to continue visiting places where consumers are directly to spread the positive energy that Buldak possesses."

Earlier, the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration (DVFM) issued a recall order in June due to the capsaicin content in Nuclear Buldak Bokkeummyeon 2x, Nuclear Buldak Bokkeummyeon 3x, and Buldak Bokkeumtangmyeon. Subsequently, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety and Samyang Round Square sent capsaicin content analysis results and statements to the Danish authorities, and through scientific responses, the recall of Buldak products was withdrawn last month.

Executive Director Choi expressed, "We deeply appreciate the cooperation and guidance received from the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration throughout the recall process," and added, "We also thank the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety for the scientific response and the successful cooperation between government and company that led to this outcome."
