Uljin County in North Gyeongsang Province conducted a safety and hygiene inspection of local campsites for two days starting from the 5th, in response to the increase in campsite users and to prepare for heatwaves and natural disasters.
Uljin County has completed safety and hygiene inspections of campsites in preparation for the heatwave.
This inspection was carried out by private electrical and fire safety companies along with responsible public officials, who examined 14 registered campsites in the area to ensure the safety of tourists and to establish a sound camping culture.
The main inspection items included compliance with campsite safety standards (fire prevention, use of electricity and gas), the status of safety and hygiene management for glamping and caravans, cleanliness of restrooms, presence of illegal recording devices in restrooms and shower rooms, subscription to liability insurance, and the response system for natural disasters such as heatwaves, typhoons, and heavy rainfall.
As a result of the joint inspection, it was confirmed that restrooms were generally well maintained and no illegal recording devices were found in restrooms or shower rooms. Based on these findings, issues that could be immediately corrected were addressed on-site with the operators, and necessary measures such as facility improvements will be implemented as needed.
County Governor Son Byungbok stated, "Guidance and inspections of campsites are efforts to raise operators' awareness of safety and to prevent accidents," and added, "We will do our utmost in inspections to ensure that tourists can use campsites safely and comfortably."
