Due to the ongoing heatwave, a man and a woman who were working on farms in Changnyeong and Sancheong, Gyeongnam, have collapsed and died one after another.
According to the police on the 8th, at around 10:57 a.m. on the 7th, an 80-year-old man, Mr. A, was found collapsed while working in a rice paddy in Yuo-myeon, Changnyeong-gun.
On the same day, at around 1:29 p.m., a woman in her 70s, Ms. B, was found collapsed while working on sesame threshing in a greenhouse in Danseong-myeon, Sancheong-gun.
According to autopsy results, it is presumed that the two died from acute cardiac arrest due to heat and heatstroke, respectively.
With these cases, the number of suspected heat-related deaths in Gyeongnam Province this summer has increased to eight.
