Hancom Reports Operating Profit of 19.9 Billion KRW in Q2, Up 8.9% Thanks to Cloud Growth

Hancom announced on the 8th that its consolidated sales for the second quarter of this year reached 90.5 billion KRW, an increase of 15.4% compared to the same period last year. Operating profit was recorded at 19.9 billion KRW, up 8.9%.

Hancom is shifting its sales focus from the installed software 'Hancom Office' to cloud and artificial intelligence (AI) technology businesses.

The sales proportion of cloud and web-based product lines grew from 8% in the same period last year to 18.9% in the first quarter and 23.4% in the second quarter. This is analyzed as a result of increased demand for public and corporate DX (digital transformation) and educational cloud Software as a Service (SaaS) products since last year.

In the second half of the year, the company plans to continue its upward trend by focusing on securing AI business performance. AI-based Q&A solution 'Hancom Pedia' and AI intelligent document creation tool 'Hancom Assistant' will be launched consecutively. Additionally, based on various application cases secured through PoCs (Proof of Concept) with public institutions such as Gyeonggi Provincial Government and Korea Electric Power Corporation in the first half, the company plans to further refine its products to fit the market.

Hancom Assistant is characterized by its ability to operate in closed network environments based on natural language. It helps efficient document creation by functioning as an add-on not only for the latest version of the Hancom Office package but also for various domestic and international document creation and collaboration tools. It supports data utilization from most file extensions, enhancing scalability and usability.
