Hyundai Motor Securities announced on the 8th that it conducted the ‘Future Dream Tree Economic Classroom,’ leveraging the characteristics of the financial industry in line with its newly established CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) strategy focusing on three key areas: future generations, protection, and community.
Along with establishing the CSR strategy, Hyundai Motor Securities presented the vision of ‘Sustainable Difference Together’ and stated that it will carry out social contribution activities based on the three key focus areas (future generations, protection, community).
The ‘Future Dream Tree Economic Classroom,’ the first activity following the strategy establishment, was a social contribution initiative promoted in collaboration with Green Umbrella Child Fund. It was held on the 31st of last month at the Financial Investment Education Center located in Yeouido, targeting about 40 children from child care facilities in Seoul. The program, themed ‘The Corporation and Trade Play I Create,’ was designed to help vulnerable children acquire financial knowledge and enhance economic thinking skills.
About 40 participating children and 13 Hyundai Motor Securities employees formed a total of eight groups to conduct the activities in teams. The children first attended theoretical classes covering the distribution process, international transactions, and trade. Afterwards, they engaged in related activities such as ‘Introducing Our Team’s Company’ and ‘Simulated Stock Investment,’ helping the children understand economic activities.
Hyundai Motor Securities added that the budget used for this activity was executed from a fund created by employee donations in the ‘Sharing Heart Account,’ which the company matched on a 1:1 basis with corporate donations.
Throughout this year, Hyundai Motor Securities has continued various social contribution activities including ▲ cultural experiences at Seongdong Good Neighbor Regional Child Center ▲ helping with rural labor (harvesting cherry tomatoes) ▲ one-day classes (social contribution) ▲ and blood donation certificate donations, in addition to this activity.
The company has also successfully established a social contribution mileage system that provides social contribution mileage to employees participating in social contribution activities, awarding additional points when selecting outstanding organizations or employees using the accumulated mileage. This system, first implemented in October 2022, has seen 508 employees?more than half of the workforce?complete mileage accumulation as of last month.
