37 Public Facilities Involving 363 Local Residents Employed
Significantly Improving Accessibility for Career-Interrupted Women and Foreign Residents
The ‘Danggeun-Gwangsan Public-Private Partnership Project,’ which connects local public jobs and information, was selected as the best project at the National Job Awards.
Danggeun, a local community platform, announced on the 8th that the ‘Dangsin Geuncheo-ui Gwangsan (Danggeun Gwangsan) Project,’ carried out in collaboration with Gwangsan District of Gwangju Metropolitan City, won the top prize in the excellent project category at the ‘2024 National Local Government Job Awards Evaluation’ hosted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor.
This project is a public job connection support initiative designed to effectively link various jobs and citizens within neighborhoods and living areas. Through the local-based job search service ‘Danggeun Alba,’ Danggeun has been delivering public job information from Gwangsan District to local residents and implemented a service that allows users to apply for jobs all at once. The project received high praise for effectively delivering public job information to residents in the jurisdiction and significantly improving accessibility.

Danggeun Alba has effectively connected job seekers residing in Gwangsan District with public jobs. From August to December last year, the first project period of five months, 37 public facilities including libraries, welfare centers, and local children’s centers participated, posting over 100 recruitment announcements, resulting in the employment of 363 local residents. In the second phase of the project, which has been ongoing since May this year, 35 institutions participated within two months, posting over 100 recruitment announcements, and more than 230 people have applied so far, demonstrating active job connections.
It is also noteworthy that residents of various age groups, from teenagers to those in their 50s, participated without age restrictions, and applications from foreign residents have increased. More than 18% of the residents who participated in the project later applied for other private jobs within the Danggeun app. This indicates a virtuous cycle effect where experience in public job participation leads to new job opportunities.
A Danggeun representative said, “The project conducted with Gwangsan District utilized Danggeun’s local characteristics to effectively deliver scattered local public job information to residents in need and led to actual job connections, thereby revitalizing the local economy. We will continue to cooperate with various local governments to improve accessibility to essential information such as public job information for local residents and strive to provide diverse benefits and new experiences to 39 million Danggeun users.”
