LabGenomics announced on the 8th that it participated alongside New England Biolabs (NEB) in the ‘Korean Society for Molecular and Cellular Biology RNA Division Summer Symposium.’
At the symposium, the two companies engaged in partnering with various global customers and promoted genome analysis reagents. The company explained that there was particularly high interest and positive feedback regarding LabGenomics’ next-generation sequencing (NGS) analysis, ribonucleic acid (RNA) sequencing, and genome analysis services.
The event, centered around the RNA Division, was attended by leading domestic professors and related companies. LabGenomics also provided an explanation of its technological capabilities to Professor Kim Taekyung, head of the RNA Division of the Korean Society for Molecular and Cellular Biology and a professor at Pohang University of Science and Technology. Future collaboration discussions are planned regarding research on expression changes of enhancer RNA (eRNA) led by Professor Kim. Additionally, they plan to promote higher-level genome analysis through the supply of NEB products.
A LabGenomics representative stated, “We received numerous inquiries about our services from prestigious domestic universities and companies such as Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, Chung-Ang University, and ATG Lifetech. We also received bulk contract inquiries and sample test requests for RNA sequencing services, so visible results are expected soon.”
They added, “Based on the acquisition of CliaLab, we are accelerating our entry into the U.S. market while signing domestic distribution agreements with global genetic diagnostics companies, focusing on expanding the NGS market. We will pursue a two-track outbound and inbound strategy to target the global molecular diagnostics market,” emphasizing their approach.
Meanwhile, LabGenomics signed a distribution agreement for gene analysis reagents and equipment with NEB in December last year. They are actively collaborating with NEB Korea to plan various sales promotions and are accelerating the expansion of the domestic NGS market.
