Gyeonggi Province will conduct safety inspections over two days, on the 8th and 9th, at six major water play facilities across three cities and counties: Yangpyeong-gun, Namyangju-si, and Yeoncheon-gun.
This inspection is organized to verify the implementation status of safety management measures and the actual conditions of on-site management, with participation from Gyeonggi Province, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, and officials from local cities and counties within the province.
Summer water play safety management is essential to protect the safety of local residents and tourists. The inspection will focus on checking safety facilities at water play sites, confirming emergency response systems, and ensuring compliance with safety rules.
On the 8th, Gyeonggi Province will inspect Gwangtan Recreation Area and Byeokgyecheon in Yangpyeong-gun, as well as the area around Hwangsaebawi and Samcheonri Training Center in Namyangju-si. On the 9th, inspections will be conducted at Hantangang Recreation Area and the vicinity of Samicheongyo Bridge in Yeoncheon-gun.
Through this inspection, Gyeonggi Province plans to promptly address any issues found and strengthen the safety of water play locations. The results of the on-site inspections will be used in cooperation with the relevant local governments to develop improvement plans and devise measures to prevent recurrence.
Heo Taehaeng, head of the Northern Safety Special Inspection Team of Gyeonggi Province, stated, "Through this inspection, we will prevent water play safety accidents and continuously strive to ensure that residents can spend the summer safely."
