Electric Scooter Catches Fire While Charging
Battery Malfunction and Overheating Suspected Cause
A fire broke out in an electric scooter that was charging in Jeju.
On the 7th, the Jeju Fire Safety Headquarters reported that at around 3:15 a.m., a fire occurred in an electric scooter that was charging in Andeok-myeon, Seogwipo-si, Jeju, and it was extinguished in about 15 minutes. There were no reported casualties.
The scooter that caught fire had been charging for over 7 hours, from 8 p.m. the previous day until just before the fire.
Currently, the fire authorities suspect the fire was caused by battery overheating and are investigating the exact cause.
