Samsung SDS, First in Domestic Industry to Obtain 'AI Management System' Certification

Samsung SDS announced on the 8th that it has become the first company in the IT service industry to obtain the international standard certification 'ISO·IEC 42001' for Artificial Intelligence (AI) management systems.

The AI management system is a global standard certification system for AI management frameworks established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). It evaluates whether companies manage risks related to AI ethics and perform responsible roles throughout the entire process of developing and operating AI-applied products and services.

Samsung SDS obtained this certification for its generative AI services, FabriX, Brity Copilot, and Brity Automation.

The Korea Standards Association (KSA) comprehensively reviewed Samsung SDS’s generative AI services, including ▲ AI management policies ▲ AI management systems ▲ AI risk management, and awarded the certification. Through this certification, Samsung SDS was recognized for its capabilities in establishing AI product development and service operation management regulations that comply with international standards, as well as AI design, development, quality, and data management processes.

Additionally, Samsung SDS is enhancing its digital responsibility management system to address risks and ethical issues that may arise during the development of generative AI products and services.

Ahn Jung-tae, Vice President and Head of Management Support Office at Samsung SDS, said, "By obtaining this international standard certification, we will provide AI services based on trust and responsibility to our customers. We will continue to expand the application of international standards to all Samsung SDS products and services related to generative AI and strive to fulfill our social responsibilities as an AI company."
