"Falling While Parking an Electric Kickboard"
Fined and License Revoked
Group BTS member Suga was caught by the police while riding an electric scooter under the influence of alcohol, and his agency Big Hit issued an official apology.
Big Hit Music stated on its official website on the 7th, "On the night of the 6th, Suga was riding an electric scooter wearing a helmet while returning home in a drunken state. After traveling about 500 meters, he fell while parking, and the police nearby conducted a breathalyzer test, resulting in a fine and license cancellation."
They continued, "There were no casualties or property damage caused by the incident, and he returned home under police supervision. We apologize for disappointing many people due to the artist's inappropriate behavior."
They added, "As he is currently serving as a social service agent, he will receive appropriate disciplinary action from his workplace for causing social disturbance."
Suga also posted an apology on his personal social media on the same day. He explained, "After drinking at a dinner last night, I rode an electric scooter home. I violated road traffic laws due to a careless thought that it was a short distance."
Meanwhile, the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul announced that they have booked Suga on charges of violating the Road Traffic Act (drunk driving) and are investigating. According to the police, Suga was found alone after falling while riding an electric scooter under the influence in the Yongsan district the previous day. When the police tried to help him, they detected the smell of alcohol and handed him over to the nearby police station.
Suga entered the Nonsan training center in Chungnam in March for basic military training and is currently serving as a social service agent. His discharge date is scheduled for June 2025.
