Dongbanwi Participates in 'Partner Company ESG Support Project'
The Win-Win Growth Committee signed a joint agreement on the 7th with three energy public enterprises?Korea Gas Safety Corporation, KEPCO Nuclear Fuel, and Korea Electric Power Technology?regarding the '2024 ESG Support Project for Partner Companies.'
Through this agreement, the three companies, each possessing different expertise, will collaborate to provide various support programs aimed at helping small and medium-sized partner companies effectively adopt and implement ESG management, with the goal of spreading a culture of coexistence, cooperation, and fairness.
In particular, customized ESG indicators for partner SMEs will be selected according to the Win-Win Committee’s SME ESG standard guidelines, and comprehensive support such as ESG education, diagnosis, and on-site inspection (consulting) will be provided.
Partner companies that excel in complying with ESG indicators will be issued an 'ESG Excellent SME Certificate' by the Win-Win Committee, which will enable them to receive various incentives including preferential interest rates, preferential treatment in overseas expansion support projects, and environmental and energy technology support.
The three energy public enterprises operate various support systems to realize social value linked to their local communities as regional base companies.
The Korea Gas Safety Corporation continuously discovers customized jobs for socially vulnerable groups such as the elderly and disabled by linking gas safety duties with programs like the 'Digital Senior Gas Safety Promotion Support Group,' which produces video content on regional gas safety cases in the Chungbuk area as a pilot region and promotes it online.
KEPCO Nuclear Fuel has been selected as a recognized company for community contribution for five consecutive years since 2019 through social contribution activities based on collaboration between the private and public sectors, such as participating in the collaborative marketplace 'Ready, Gachi Flex' to revitalize the social economy and the agenda 'Psychological Healing Forest Care Program for Caregivers of the Disabled' under the Daejeon Regional Problem-Solving Platform.
Korea Electric Power Technology pursues various win-win growth and social contribution projects by strengthening the local community safety net focused on solving regional issues through collaboration with local platforms and performing sustainable support projects utilizing business capabilities and institutional resources under the vision of 'Creating brighter future value than yesterday through business-based sustainable social contribution.'
Oh Young-gyo, chairman of the Win-Win Growth Committee, stated, "This is a meaningful case where three public enterprises representing the energy industry have joined forces to support the spread of ESG management among small and medium-sized partner companies," adding, "We hope this Win-Win Committee project will contribute to strengthening the ESG capabilities of local SMEs and the social spread of ESG values."
