On the 7th, SK Securities analyzed that the domestic stock market will take time to verify the impact of the yen carry trade and monitor the Middle East conflict to assess its potential effects on the stock market.
Park Chansol, a researcher at SK Securities, stated, "There are also concerns about the economy," adding, "Investment sentiment will improve only after confirming several upcoming growth rate indicators." He further emphasized, "It is necessary to take a slightly longer-term perspective rather than being swayed by daily market volatility."
He explained, "The current volatility in the domestic stock market is due to doubts about the slowdown in the U.S. economy and its impact on the growth of the global semiconductor industry, which holds a significant weight in our market," and judged that "it was largely unrelated to the global economy." He added, "The global economy is considered to be in an expansion phase," noting, "It entered the expansion phase in February this year and has continued since," and expressed hope that "once global economic indicators improve, the domestic stock market will also enter an upward trend."
However, Park pointed out, "The appearance of Harris on the U.S. presidential stage and her sharp rise in approval ratings are not positive factors for the stock market," explaining, "This is because the market does not clearly understand what future Harris envisions for the U.S." He predicted, "Uncertainty will remain about the post-U.S. presidential election period until analysis and evaluation are completed," and forecasted that "a sustained rise in the U.S. stock market will be difficult."
Park analyzed, "Currently, major export large corporations and the finance and defense industries have posted earnings," but "overall, this has not led to a positive economic trend." He added, "The KOSDAQ is in an oversold zone," and predicted, "Small and mid-cap stocks will outperform the market based on absolute returns."
Park explained that he is paying attention to the telecommunications, essential consumer goods, utilities, and healthcare sectors. He advised that if the KOSDAQ index rises from the oversold zone, the secondary battery sector should also be closely watched.
