August 10-11 at Sinjeonggyo Lower Anyangcheon... Cool Water Play During Hot Days, Rest with Culture at Night
Temporary Showers, Changing Rooms, and Picnic Zones with Mats to Sit and Relax
"We Will Host Various Festivals to Transform Anyangcheon into a Space for Rest, Culture, Leisure, and a Hub of Riverside Culture"
Anyangcheon is transforming into an attractive space where people can cool off from the midsummer heat and enjoy water play and summer relaxation.
Yeongdeungpo-gu (District Mayor Choi Ho-kwon) announced that from August 10 to 11, the “Anyangcheon Summer Festival - Daepiseo” will be held for two days around the Yeongrongi Inline Skate Park area under Sinjeonggyo Bridge on Anyangcheon.
The inaugural “Anyangcheon Summer Festival - Daepiseo” will take place along Anyangcheon, a landmark representing Yeongdeungpo and a resting and everyday space for residents. Through a unique and special summer retreat, the festival aims to transform Anyangcheon, a representative waterfront space, into a place for daily life, relaxation, culture, and enjoyment.
True to its theme of “a large-scale retreat from the heat,” the festival offers various activities to enjoy cool water play during the hot daytime and rest with performances during the refreshing nights.
On the first day of the festival, August 10, the opening ceremony will kick off with a “Water Balloon Burst” event.
The festival’s highlight, the “Daepiseo Water Playground,” features a medium-to-large water play area accommodating 150 people (admission for ages 3 and above) and a water slide. There is also a pool for toddlers (under age 2). For safe water play, the playground operates in 45-minute sessions with 15-minute breaks. Safety personnel trained in CPR and first aid will be on site, and water quality will be maintained through frequent disinfection.
Additionally, the festival includes the “Daepiseo Stage,” where jazz, street performances, and circus acts bring music and stories to life; the “Daepiseo Market,” showcasing charming items from local workshops; and the “Summer Workshop,” where parents and children can participate together.
At the “Daepiseo Picnic” mat zone under Sinjeonggyo Bridge, visitors can comfortably enjoy the festival seated on their own mats. Convenience facilities such as temporary showers, portable restrooms, changing rooms, and heat relief shelters are also fully provided.
Choi Ho-kwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo-gu, said, “I hope families enjoy their summer vacation together at the ‘Anyangcheon Summer Festival,’ where water play and culture come together, and have a special summer. We will continue to develop Anyangcheon as a space for rest, culture, and leisure for residents and as a new hub for waterfront culture through various events and festivals.”
