SK Chemicals announced on the 6th that it recorded sales of 344.8 billion KRW and an operating profit of 31.3 billion KRW in the second quarter on a separate basis this year. Sales increased by 11.6% and operating profit rose by 58.9% compared to the previous year.
SK Chemicals explained, "Despite the chemical industry's recession, we grew by expanding our business centered on copolyesters such as ECOZEN."
They added, "We will continue to strengthen our fundamental competitiveness by expanding a high value-added portfolio in the mid to long term and strive to achieve concrete results early in new businesses such as circular recycling."
Including the performance of its subsidiary SK Bioscience, SK Chemicals' consolidated sales for the second quarter this year were 413.9 billion KRW, with an operating profit of 8.9 billion KRW. Sales increased by 11.5% year-on-year, and operating profit turned positive from a loss of 13.8 billion KRW in the previous year.
