Car Journalists Association Selects Renault Grand Koleos as Car of the Month

New Mini Surpasses Models Like Maybach EQS

Renault Korea's new sports utility vehicle (SUV), the 'Grand Koleos,' has been selected as the 'Car of the Month' for August by the Korea Automobile Journalists Association.

On the 6th, the Car of the Year Selection Committee under the Korea Automobile Journalists Association announced this selection result. The committee chooses the 'Car of the Month' from new cars and facelift models released during the entire previous month, from the 1st to the end of the month, based on the highest evaluation.

The evaluation is conducted in five categories: ▲ interior/exterior design and emotional quality ▲ safety and convenience features ▲ power performance ▲ energy efficiency and greenhouse gas emissions ▲ marketability and purchase intention.

The candidates for this selection were five vehicles: Lexus The New LM500h, Renault Grand Koleos, Mercedes-Benz Maybach EQS SUV, MINI Mini Cooper S 3-door, and Chevrolet Colorado. The Grand Koleos ranked first with a score of 34.3 out of 50 points. It received 7.3 points each in safety and convenience features and marketability and purchase intention categories, and 7 points in the energy efficiency and greenhouse gas emissions category.

Jung Chi-yeon, Chairperson of the Car of the Year Selection Committee, explained, "The Grand Koleos is a new model that inherits Renault's first sports utility vehicle (SUV), the Koleos, adopting attractive elements that a mid-size SUV should have, such as spacious interior, quietness, and advanced driving assistance systems." She added, "In particular, through the 'OpenR Panorama Screen,' which consists of three independently functioning 12.3-inch screens with excellent connectivity, various infotainment services can be enjoyed."
