Six Cities and Counties in Chungnam Compete to Host the 2nd Central Police Academy

Asan, Buyeo, Seocheon, Hongseong, Yesan, and Taean Compete in Public Contest

Six cities and counties in the Chungnam region have joined the competition to attract the (tentatively named) National Police Agency's 2nd Central Police Academy.

According to Chungnam Province and other sources on the 6th, the National Police Agency has announced a call for site selection for the 2nd Central Police Academy, which will accommodate 5,000 people on a total floor area of about 180,000 square meters, targeting 226 basic local governments nationwide.

In Chungnam, Asan City, Buyeo County, Seocheon County, Hongseong County, Yesan County, and Taean County have entered the competition.

Buyeo County proposed the area of the Korea Minting, Security Printing & ID Card Operating Corporation Paper Headquarters, which is under consideration for relocation, as a candidate site, highlighting its excellent transportation accessibility and pleasant educational environment.

Yesan County proposed the Gongju National University campus, which is national land and allows for rapid development and expansion, as a candidate site.

The National Police Agency plans to select the final site after conducting on-site inspections and evaluations of the candidate locations.

A provincial official said, "Despite the National Police Agency's requirement for a site of more than 280,000 pyeong, many local governments have shown interest," adding, "We will check the site conditions through on-site inspections and prepare to ensure final selection."
