Busan City Signs Agreement with KTCS, Implements Public-Private Cooperation

Mobile-Centered Industrial Complex Administration Improves Accessibility for Seniors

The Busan Ulsan Gyeongnam Regional Headquarters of the National Health Insurance Service (Director Choi Deokgeun) announced on the 6th that it has signed an agreement with Busan City and KTCS to expand accessibility for the elderly to rapidly changing mobile-centered administrative services.

As part of the 2024 Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam Digital Learning Center Education Project, the National Health Insurance Service will provide educational support and share content, while KTCS will be responsible for project implementation. Mobile app education on health insurance will be conducted not only in Busan but also in Gyeongnam and Ulsan regions.

In particular, Busan City has become the first in the nation to adopt two official National Health Insurance apps as self-learning educational programs (web emulators), allowing focused training on The Health Insurance and the Mobile Health Insurance Card.

A Busan City official said, "Since the submission of identification has become mandatory for hospital and clinic visits as of May 20 this year, we have prioritized this educational program so that Busan citizens can smoothly utilize the Mobile Health Insurance Card."

As part of digital administrative innovation, the National Health Insurance Service has focused on revamping The Health Insurance app so that major content on its website can be easily and quickly accessed by the public via mobile devices.

Users of The Health Insurance app can conveniently access services such as electronic payment of insurance premiums, checking health examinations for themselves and their family (including infants), health predictions, and even long-term care civil services, all through mobile login.

An official from the National Health Insurance Service stated, "This educational program is designed to be easily understood and accessible, so upon completion, it is expected that many citizens, including the elderly, will be able to independently check useful information such as personalized health data through the mobile app."
