Pukyong National University Hosts Korean Language Training Program for Kiribati Fisheries Officials Entrance Ceremony for the Kiribati Korean Language Training Program.

Through this training program, which will be held throughout August, the center will provide Korean language education to eight fisheries officials working in the marine and fisheries-related departments of Kiribati.

Kiribati is an island nation located in the western central Pacific Ocean and holds an important geopolitical position in the fisheries and marine sector. Recently, many Korean fisheries companies have been operating in the waters of Kiribati, increasing the need for smooth communication.

The center plans to enhance the Korean language communication skills of Kiribati officials by offering Korean language lectures and group tutoring in cooperation with the university's language education center, as well as providing opportunities for Korean cultural experiences and exchanges with Korean students.

The Overseas Fisheries Cooperation Center, supported by official development assistance (ODA) projects from the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries and others, has been operating various training programs in the fisheries and marine sector for developing countries since 2007.
