Gwangjin-gu Achieves A Grade for Two Consecutive Years in Local Government Joint Evaluation

Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) achieved an excellent A grade in the 2024 Local Government Government Joint Evaluation conducted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety. For the second consecutive year, following last year, the district received an A grade and secured a special grant of 19 million won.

The Government Joint Evaluation is a comprehensive assessment conducted jointly by relevant ministries on the performance of national delegated tasks, national subsidy projects, and major national policies carried out over the past year across 17 cities and provinces nationwide.

Based on the evaluation results from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, Seoul City evaluates each autonomous district's goal achievement and effort levels. Goal achievement is assessed through an absolute evaluation of quantitative indicators, while effort is qualitatively evaluated based on the degree of preparation and effort made to achieve the goals.

The district achieved 35 out of 42 quantitative indicators for autonomous districts, showing a high achievement rate of 83%. Notable accomplishments were made in areas closely related to residents' daily lives, including ▲achievement rate of senior citizen job targets ▲establishment and operation performance of youth harmful environment monitoring systems ▲management rate of food poisoning occurrences ▲operation performance of smoking cessation clinics ▲per capita recyclable resource separation collection volume.

In terms of preparation and effort, the district also scored higher than last year. It received good scores across nine items, including ▲focused performance management through indicator formula analysis ▲progress report meetings ▲training for project managers ▲monitoring and discovery of best practices.

Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “I am very pleased to have achieved the goals in indicators closely related to residents' lives. I also express my gratitude to the residents who have trusted the district administration and to the staff who worked hard in various fields.” He added, “We will continue to actively promote major national policies that residents can feel and respond with good results next year as well.”
