Dobong-gu and Seoul Firefighting Co., Ltd. Sign Cheongmok Scholarship Agreement... Providing One-Time Scholarship of 1 Million Won Each to 10 Low-Income Grandparent-Headed Elementary, Middle, and High School Students Residing in Dobong-gu, with Priority Employment Rights Offered
Dobong-gu (Mayor Oh Eon-seok) announced on August 1 that it has signed a scholarship agreement with Seoul Fire Co., Ltd. to support the educational welfare of low-income grandparent-headed households in the area.
The Cheongmok Scholarship Project is a program where the district recommends eligible candidates, and Seoul Fire provides scholarships and other support.
A district official stated, “Previously, Seoul Fire showed its commitment to solving educational and employment issues for grandparent-headed families to the district. The district shared the same intention and sought related administrative support measures. Through this project, we expect students from low-income grandparent-headed households to be able to focus on their studies in a stable environment.”
The scholarship recipients are elementary, middle, and high school students from low-income grandparent-headed households residing in Dobong-gu.
According to the agreement, 10 students will each receive 1 million KRW, totaling 10 million KRW. Additionally, selected students are guaranteed priority employment at Seoul Fire Co., Ltd. upon graduation from fire-related universities.
The district official added, “After reviewing the progress of the project, we plan to consider long-term scholarship support and expanding the number of recipients until the beneficiaries complete their studies.”
Oh Eon-seok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, said, “We thank Seoul Fire for making this significant decision to support the educational welfare of grandparent-headed families. This agreement will be an opportunity for children to nurture their dreams and hopes,” and added, “The district will continue to collaborate with various local companies to discover and support projects that fulfill social responsibility.”
