US Gymnastics Queen Biles Ends Paris Olympics with Triple Crown Victory [Paris Olympics]

American gymnastics queen Simone Biles failed to achieve her goal of winning five gold medals at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Biles won three gold medals at the Paris Olympics, increasing her total Olympic gold medal count to seven.

On the 5th (local time), Biles scored 14.133 points in the women's floor exercise final at the 2024 Paris Olympics held at the Bercy Arena in Paris, France, finishing with a silver medal. Biles fell behind the gold medal after receiving a 0.6-point deduction due to a major mistake.

The gold medal was claimed by Brazil's Rebeca Andrade. Andrade scored 14.166 points, edging out Biles by 0.033 points.

Earlier that day, Biles also fell off the balance beam and finished in 5th place. She ultimately won three gold medals in the team event, all-around, and vault at the Paris Olympics. At the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Games, Biles won gold medals in four events: team, all-around, vault, and floor exercise.

Biles aimed for gold in her main events, vault and floor exercise, at this Olympics as well, but an unexpected mistake in the floor exercise held her back. She did not qualify for the final in the uneven bars.

At the 2020 Tokyo Olympics held three years ago, Biles only managed to win one silver and one bronze medal. At that time, she suffered from severe stress due to excessive expectations, even withdrawing from competitions because of fear of landing.

After focusing on treatment for two years following the Tokyo Olympics, Biles made a surprise comeback at last year’s U.S. Gymnastics Championships, showcasing her undiminished skills and confidently representing the United States at her third Olympic Games this year in Paris.
