"Police Should Lead by Example"...Netizens Criticize
There is controversy online after claims arose that a police officer was driving a motorcycle on the road without wearing a helmet.
On the 31st of last month, a social networking service (SNS) post revealed the rear view of a police officer riding a police motorcycle without a helmet on a road in Seoul.
The author explained, "Many comments said it was a scene of confiscating an illegally tuned motorcycle," adding, "But if you look closely, it is clearly a motorcycle marked as police."
In response, one netizen criticized, "It's disappointing since the police should set an example." Another netizen defended, saying, "Traffic police wear white uniforms, but the officer in the photo is in a regular police uniform," and added, "I don't know what happened, but it seems like they are just towing it away."
Other comments included, "Do such police officers issue fines?", "Are police exempt from following the law?", "Where should I report this?", and "I don't know the circumstances, but it seems like a mistake regardless." Meanwhile, the authenticity of the video has not been confirmed.
