On the 4th (local time), in the officially announced weekly men's golf world rankings, he earned 3.43 points, climbing two spots from 20th last week. He performed well by finishing 8th (13-under 271) in the men's individual event at the 2024 Paris Olympic Golf held at Le Golf National Olympic Course (Par 71) in Gonesse, near Paris, France. After missing the cut at the last major, The Open, which caused his world ranking to drop into the 20s, he made up for it at the Olympics. Although the Olympic golf event did not offer prize money, it awarded world ranking points.

Gold medalist Scottie Scheffler (USA) solidified his hold on 1st place. Xander Schauffele (USA) and Rory McIlroy (Northern Ireland) maintained 2nd and 3rd places respectively. Silver medalist Tommy Fleetwood (England) jumped three spots from 14th to 11th. Bronze medalist Hideki Matsuyama (Japan) held steady at 12th. Im Sung-jae, who did not participate in the Olympics, dropped one spot from 19th to 20th. An Byeong-hun, who tied for 24th at the Olympics, remained unchanged at 32nd.
