Conducted at 12 Examination Centers in Seoul
The Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education will conduct the 2024 2nd Elementary, Middle, and High School Equivalency Exams on the 8th at 12 testing centers across Seoul.
This exam will have 361 elementary-level, 898 middle-level, and 3,838 high-level examinees, including 40 examinees with disabilities and 48 incarcerated individuals.
The elementary-level exam will be held at Seonrin Middle School (1 school), the middle-level exams at Daeyeong Middle School and Wolgok Middle School (2 schools), and the high-level exams at Jungam Middle School, Shinmok Middle School, Seoun Middle School, Songpa Middle School, Gwangnam Middle School, and Gongneung Middle School (6 schools).
According to the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education, the pass rates for the equivalency exams were 84.8% in 2021, 86.6% in 2022, 88.7% last year, and 90.5% for the first exam this year.
All examinees must bring their admission ticket and ID on the exam day. For filling out the answer sheet, elementary-level examinees should prepare a black ballpoint pen, while middle and high-level examinees should prepare a water-based pen for computer use. Examinees must enter the exam room by 8:40 AM on the exam day.
If an admission ticket is lost, it can be reissued on the exam day at the exam management office of the respective testing center by presenting an ID and one photo identical to the one submitted during registration.
For this exam as well, the education office will provide a ‘Visiting Equivalency Exam Service’ for severely disabled individuals who have difficulty traveling to the testing centers, with two examinees taking the exam at home.
Parking is not allowed at the testing centers on the exam day, so public transportation must be used. Possession of communication devices such as mobile phones during the exam will be considered cheating regardless of use, so special caution is required.
Pass results can be checked on the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education website on the 30th.
