Songpa-gu (District Mayor Seo Gang-seok) announced on the 5th that it has established the city’s first “Unmanned Parking Lot Integrated Operation Platform” and began trial operation in August to efficiently manage public parking lots.

The district has been continuously creating unmanned parking lots to improve the operational efficiency and user convenience of public parking lots. However, due to the nature of public parking lots, it was impossible to unify parking devices, and there were limitations in integrated management due to differences in operating programs by manufacturer.

Accordingly, the district established the “Unmanned Parking Lot Integrated Operation Platform” (hereinafter referred to as the Integrated Platform), which encompasses unmanned parking facilities and operating systems.

With a single program, integrated management is possible from handling civil complaints to revenue settlement, and the efficiency of the integrated parking control center’s operations is greatly improved, which is expected to enhance service quality.

The biggest change is the greatly improved control environment that allows all parking lot statuses and CCTV to be viewed at a glance. This enables immediate response to inconveniences occurring on site and allows users to quickly receive necessary information based on collected data such as full parking lot status.

Advanced parking services are provided in various ways to users.

Online payment of parking fees, which was previously possible only in private parking lots, is now available for public parking lots as well. Users can prepay via mobile devices anywhere in Songpa-gu public parking lots and exit without waiting.

Unpaid fees and season tickets can also be checked and paid online. By introducing the “Baro Green Payment System,” parking fees are automatically paid upon exit using the payment method pre-registered by the user.

In particular, the multi-child discount, which caused inconvenience to many residents, has been simplified. Instead of showing the “Dadoongi Happiness Card” every time upon exit, users receive a one-time non-face-to-face eligibility verification on the public parking lot website, and the discount is automatically applied.

Additionally, automatic discounts are available for personal discounts that previously required eligibility verification each time, such as for national merit recipients and long-term donors.

Seoul City Multiple Children Qualification Verification

Over the past 10 months, the district connected 15 public parking lots in the area to the Integrated Operation Platform. During the second half of the year, trial operations will be conducted to monitor user responses and areas for improvement, and unmanned operation and system linkage will be implemented for the upcoming Wiryesong-gil and Samjeon Neighborhood Park public parking lots.

District Mayor Seo Gang-seok stated, “Songpa-gu not only has the largest population in Seoul but is also a representative tourist destination in Korea, making parking environment improvement a major challenge. We will continue to expand the newly established Integrated Operation Platform to enable residents and visitors to use public parking lots more conveniently.”
