Regular Admission Strategy Briefing Held Last Year

Nowon-gu, Seoul (Mayor Oh Seung-rok) announced that it will hold a 'College Admission Early Decision Strategy Briefing' and 'Customized Early Decision Counseling' for 2025 college entrance exam candidates and their parents.

This is especially to alleviate the anxiety of students and parents caused by the recent increase in medical school admissions and the significant expansion of non-major recruitment quotas.

The college admission early decision strategy briefing, held at the Nowon-gu Office small auditorium, will take place twice on August 5 and 6. Each session will run for three hours from 6 PM to 9 PM. Those who could not apply for on-site participation in advance can watch the live broadcast on Nowon-gu Office's official YouTube channel 'Mihongssi'.

The briefing is divided into 'General Overview of Early Decision and Comprehensive Student Record Screening' conducted by Yoon Hee-tae from Yeongdongil High School, and 'Curriculum and Essay Screening' conducted by Kim Jang-eop from Yeonghoon High School. Admission experts from the public education field will deliver vivid strategies for early decision applications.

In addition to the briefing, the district will provide one-on-one customized counseling for early decision applications. It will be held for 147 applicants from August 5 to 13 over seven days. Six active teachers from the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education's Educational Research Information Center's College Admission Guidance Support Team will provide tailored counseling based on individual documents such as student records.

Meanwhile, the district operates various programs for youth career paths, college admission, and learning through the Nowon Education Platform. In the first half of 2024, programs such as 'University Major Mentoring,' where university seniors studying actual majors share their career paths, visions, and major study experiences, and the '2024 First Half Career and College Admission Academy' for current high school freshmen and sophomores preparing for 2026-2027 college admissions were conducted. Career counseling, learning plan counseling, child reading counseling, and workshops for reading to children are operated year-round.
