Lee Woo-seok took the lead in the first set, but Kim Woo-jin caught up closely by shooting three 10s in the second set. In the third set, Lee Woo-seok reversed the score again by shooting consecutive 10s. The fourth set ended in a tie, and Kim Woo-jin won the fifth set 29-27.

The match then proceeded to a shoot-off, where Kim Woo-jin scored 10 points and Lee Woo-seok scored 9 points, deciding the winner.

With this, Kim Woo-jin will compete for the gold medal against the winner of the match between Florian Unruh of Germany and Brady Ellison of the United States. Lee Woo-seok will face the loser of that match in the bronze medal match.

Previously, Kim Woo-jin won two gold medals in the men's team and mixed team events. If he wins this final, he will become the third archer to achieve a triple crown at the Olympics, following An San (Gwangju Bank) from the Tokyo Olympics and Lim Si-hyun (Korea National Sport University) in this tournament. Among male archers, he will be the first to achieve a triple crown at the Olympics.

The Korean archery team, which has won gold medals in the men's and women's team events, mixed team event, and women's individual event at this Paris Olympics, is challenging to sweep five gold medals for the first time in history. Previously, Korean archery swept all events at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics, where four gold medals were at stake in archery.
