Kakao has transformed the 'Reform TF (Task Force)' led by CEO Jeong Shin-ah into a new TF aimed at establishing a systematic and cultural reform foundation.
According to industry sources on the 4th, Kakao launched the 'HR and Organizational Culture Reform TF' earlier this month. The TF leader was appointed as Lee Seung-hyun, the HR Performance Leader (FO) in charge of human resources. Lee has held the HR Performance Leader position at Kakao since April, after working at SK Telecom, Naver, Roblox, and Wisdom House.
The Reform TF carried out tasks to lay the groundwork for organizational reform. The HR and Organizational Culture Reform TF is responsible for continuing reform efforts in the long term by solidifying institutional and cultural foundations. Since the TF leader is the head of HR, it is expected that efforts will be made to improve HR and welfare-related systems.
Following the arrest of founder Kim Beom-su, Chair of the CA Council's Management Reform Committee, last month, CEO Jeong has been acting as the interim chair of the Management Reform Committee and managing the emergency management system. Reflecting the founder Kim's intentions, Kakao established the Reform TF in December last year and appointed then-CEO nominee Jeong Shin-ah as the head of the Reform TF.
From mid-January this year, CEO Jeong conducted 'Crew Talk,' sequentially meeting with about 1,000 employees over a month to gather opinions. Based on this, the five-level managerial rank system was simplified into two levels?Performance Leader and Leader?to establish a faster decision-making system. Organizational restructuring was also carried out, including the merger of the real estate subsidiary Kakao Space, the acquisition of key tasks from the AI subsidiary Kakao Brain, and the establishment of the integrated AI organization 'Kanana' in June.
