President Yoon Suk-yeol will begin his summer vacation schedule starting from the 5th. The schedule is flexible, and even during the vacation period, he is expected to engage in public welfare activities such as visiting local traditional markets.

A presidential office official stated, "President Yoon's vacation schedule will start on Monday the 5th," adding, "He may visit military facilities and stop by local markets and shops to promote domestic consumption."

At the Cabinet meeting held on the 30th of last month, President Yoon also encouraged Cabinet members to take their vacations. Regarding the summer vacation, he explained, "It is a precious time to take a break from busy daily life and recharge vitality, as well as a great opportunity for the local economy to come alive," and "Various regions across the country are making thorough preparations to welcome visitors."

He continued, "In 34 cities, counties, and districts nationwide, 'Digital Tourism Resident Cards' will be issued, offering discounts in various areas such as accommodation, shopping, and admission," and introduced, "Local self-employed business owners are also waiting for visitors with reasonable prices and generous services."

President Yoon said, "I hope Cabinet members will first work hard to revitalize the local economy and encourage public officials in each ministry to take the lead," adding, "I will also pay more attention and effort to revitalizing local areas and domestic consumption."

Last year, President Yoon took a summer vacation from August 2nd to 8th, lasting six nights and seven days. During the vacation, he attended the 'Saemangeum Secondary Battery Investment Agreement Ceremony' held in Gunsan, Jeonbuk, and the opening ceremony of the Saemangeum World Scout Jamboree. He also toured the naval base in Jinhae, Gyeongnam, and encouraged the soldiers.

Afterward, President Yoon stayed with his wife, First Lady Kim Keon-hee, at the presidential retreat, Jeodo Island in Geoje, Gyeongnam, where he recharged and reportedly spent considerable time planning future political strategies.

"Taking a good vacation is also a duty"... Encouraging Cabinet members to take vacations

A presidential office official met with reporters at the Yongsan Presidential Office on the 2nd and conveyed, "The President said, 'Cabinet members should not reduce their vacations; everyone should take them. Taking a good vacation is also part of the job.'"

The official added, "If the President goes to local areas, he will visit military facilities and hold events to encourage uniformed personnel and senior military officers," and said, "Just like last year's 'public welfare tour' at the Geoje market in Gyeongnam during his vacation, there may be similar schedules this time as well."

President Yoon is expected to spend most of his vacation period in local areas to promote domestic consumption. Rather than staying in one place, he is likely to move around and visit public welfare sites directly.

In particular, amid fierce opposition party attacks regarding the President's vacation and numerous pressing national issues, it is reported that he will manage his schedule and work intermittently even during the vacation period. With the ongoing heatwave, preparations for it, as well as issues such as the delayed settlements of TMON and WEMAKEPRICE, and the comprehensive real estate measures to be announced before the 15th of this month, require review. President Yoon is expected to receive reports on these matters even while on vacation.

If the opposition party's bills, such as the 'Broadcasting Four Acts' (amendments to the Broadcasting Act, the Promotion of Broadcasting Culture Act, the Korea Educational Broadcasting System Act, and the Korea Communications Commission Act) and the 'Nationwide 250,000 Won Support Act' (Special Measures Act on the Payment of Livelihood Recovery Support Funds), which were passed unilaterally by the opposition, are sent to the government before the Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Han Duck-soo scheduled for the 6th, the government plans to resolve an agenda to recommend exercising the right to request reconsideration at the Cabinet meeting. President Yoon may then approve it electronically while on vacation.
