Jeon Hun-young earlier won against Taiwan's Lei Chien-ying 6-4 (27-28 28-26 28-25 25-29 28-25). Nam Su-hyun defeated Romania's Madalina Amaistrai 6-2 (28-24 27-29 28-27 29-28).

Thus, all three Korean players reached the quarterfinals.

In the quarterfinals, Im Si-hyun will face Mexico's Alejandra Valencia, Jeon Hun-young will compete against Turkey's Elif Gokir, and Nam Su-hyun will go up against India's Deepika Kumari. If Im Si-hyun and Jeon Hun-young survive to the semifinals, they will face each other. If Nam Su-hyun reaches the final, she could compete against a Korean player.

Korean archery has continuously won the women's individual gold medal since the 2012 London Games. In this tournament, they have secured all three archery gold medals awarded so far.

If they produce a winner in the women's individual event and the men's individual event, which concludes on the 4th, Korea will claim all five Olympic archery gold medals for the first time in history. So far, all six male and female representatives have won in the individual events.
