Choi Min-seok, the Democratic Party spokesperson, stated at a National Assembly communication briefing room briefing that regarding President Yoon's upcoming summer vacation starting on the 5th, "Is he saying he will enjoy a carefree vacation while ignoring the collapsed livelihood of the people?"
Spokesperson Choi pointed out, "In a government with common sense like Kim Moon-soo and Lee Jin-sook, 'worthless personnel' who should not even come near public office are being appointed, and suspicions that the state affairs manipulation faction linked to First Lady Kim Geon-hee was controlling the government are growing."
He continued, "With filth balloons flying from North Korea and the intelligence network built over decades being destroyed overnight, peace and national security have collapsed," adding, "There are even forecasts that the president will exercise veto power over the opposition's 'Broadcasting 4 Acts,' 'Yellow Envelope Act,' and 'Livelihood Recovery Support Fund Act' during his vacation."
Spokesperson Choi enumerated the stock market crash the previous day and the second-quarter negative growth of the gross domestic product (GDP), saying, "The people are groaning, saying 'this is worse than during COVID-19,' as the economy is not functioning normally and livelihoods are worsening."
He then criticized, "While the people are despairing in a reality that feels like a daily battlefield, is the president happily humming a tune thinking about going on vacation?"
He further stated, "There are even forecasts that the president will exercise veto power over the opposition's 'Broadcasting 4 Acts,' 'Yellow Envelope Act,' and 'Livelihood Recovery Support Fund Act' during his vacation," "The people's anger will only grow as they see President Yoon Seok-yeol irresponsibly leaving for vacation while turning South Korea into a wasteland."
President Yoon is scheduled to leave for his summer vacation starting on the 5th. It is reported that during the vacation, he is considering visiting markets to check on the livelihood economy and encouraging uniformed personnel such as military officials.
