Rep. Park Sangwoong Secures 6.4 Billion Won in Special Grants for Local Issues and Living Conditions Improvement

Prior Consultation with Mayors and County Governors of Miryang, Uiryeong, Haman, and Changnyeong Regions

Park Sangwoong, a first-term lawmaker of the People Power Party and a member of the National Assembly's Trade, Industry, Energy, SMEs, and Startups Committee (representing Miryang, Uiryeong, Haman, and Changnyeong in South Gyeongsang Province), announced on the 2nd that he had secured a total of 6.4 billion KRW in special grants from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety on the 1st.


On June 1, Representative Park closely consulted with the mayors and county heads of the four regions to identify key local issues, disaster prevention needs, and projects to improve residential conditions, and requested special grants from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.

As a result, the special grants secured in the first half of 2024 were 1.6 billion KRW each for Miryang City, Uiryeong County, Haman County, and Changnyeong County.


Looking at the detailed budgets by region: Miryang City received 1.6 billion KRW for projects including 400 million KRW for Dawon Field drainage maintenance, 200 million KRW for Geumpo drainage maintenance, 200 million KRW for Yanghyoha Reservoir maintenance, 200 million KRW for Ogok Village stream maintenance, 200 million KRW for Yangdeok Reservoir maintenance, 200 million KRW for strengthening flood prevention facilities in Sammun District, and 200 million KRW for strengthening flood prevention facilities in Gagok District.


Uiryeong County received 800 million KRW for Seodong Administrative Town small park construction and 800 million KRW for Hanusan Ecotourism infrastructure development, totaling 1.6 billion KRW.


Haman County received 800 million KRW for widening and paving the Jisu~Parkgok (County Road No. 1) and 800 million KRW for Myosa Stream maintenance, totaling 1.6 billion KRW.


Changnyeong County received 1.1 billion KRW for Jangma Jangga 1 District sewage pipeline maintenance and 500 million KRW for the installation of trash racks at Namji Daegok drainage station and one other location, totaling 1.6 billion KRW.


Representative Park stated, "As a result of close communication and hard work with central government ministries and our local city and county offices to solve constituency issues, we were able to secure 6.4 billion KRW in special grants in the first half of this year," adding, "Going forward, I will continue to discover necessary projects to create a safer and more pleasant living environment, improve quality of life, and promote regional development, and do my best to secure national funding."
