Starting from the 5th of this month, new and some extended/increased services to operate
Opening of Amsa Station History Park Station, and move-in of Godeok Biz Valley and Olympic Park Foreon
The bus routes in Gangdong-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Lee Soo-hee) are undergoing a major overhaul. The district announced on the 1st that starting from the 5th, new city bus routes will be established, and some routes will be extended and increased in frequency.
In preparation for the opening of Amsa History Park Station on the 8th Line on the 10th of this month, the full-scale move-in of the large-scale business complex Godeok Biz Valley, and the upcoming occupancy of Olympic Park Foreon (formerly Dunchon Jugong) in the second half of the year, the district has been working to establish and adjust bus routes. On the 12th, it finalized the establishment of city bus route 3324, the extension of route 3323, and the increase in frequency of route 341.
Currently, the total number of city buses in Seoul is decreasing due to the implementation of the total bus volume system. Amid this trend, Gangdong-gu has achieved the establishment of new routes and increased frequency through continuous consultations with the Seoul Metropolitan Government and transportation companies.
City bus route 3324 was newly established to connect with Amsa History Park Station on Line 8, which is set to open on the 10th of this month. This route runs from Gangil-dong through Godeok Biz Valley and Arisu-ro to Amsa History Park Station, Cheonho Station, and Gangdong Station, significantly improving transportation convenience for local residents and workers during commuting hours.
City bus route 3323 was extended by changing its turnaround point from the former Jungang Veterans Hospital Station to Jamsil Station and then to Jamsil Ferry Terminal, anticipating a significant increase in commuting demand when Olympic Park Foreon begins occupancy in the second half of this year. Additionally, the number of buses operating on route 341 (which connects Gangdong Garage to major subway stations such as Cheonho Station, Jamsil Station, and Gangnam Station) was increased from 22 to 24 vehicles, reducing the average interval between buses by about 2 minutes.
Furthermore, starting from the 2nd of this month, the turnaround point of the commuter-tailored bus 8332 will be changed from Amsa-dong to Jungang Veterans Hospital Station. This route adjustment aims to alleviate congestion on city bus route 342, which passes through Godeok Gangil 2 District and Jungang Veterans Hospital Station.
Moreover, the district plans to expand connections between Godeok Biz Valley and nearby areas through adjustments to village bus routes (Gangdong 01, Gangdong 02, Gangdong 05). The district held a village bus route adjustment review committee meeting on the 22nd and is currently awaiting final approval from the Seoul Metropolitan Government.
District Mayor Lee Soo-hee stated, “This bus route overhaul is expected to improve accessibility to major public transportation points such as Amsa History Park Station, Godeok Biz Valley, and Jungang Veterans Hospital Station, and significantly ease road congestion during residents’ commutes.”
