KMA Supports Job Search Activities for Resigning Residents

Establishment of the 'Jinro Support Task Force'

The Korean Medical Association (KMA) will support job-seeking activities for resigned residents.

On the 31st, the KMA announced the establishment of a 'Career Support Task Force (TF)' to assist resigned residents with job searching and other needs. The TF plans to connect resigned residents seeking jobs with private practitioners using the existing job posting board operated by the KMA. They will also prepare a standard contract by calculating a compensation scale agreeable to both resigned residents and private practitioners. The TF will be led by Park Geun-tae, chairman of the Korean Association of Private Practitioners.

The KMA stated that through the TF, they aim to foster harmony within the medical community by connecting resigned residents with senior doctors, while providing practical support for the residents' livelihoods and career paths.

To help resigned residents build expertise in their desired fields, the TF plans to develop various educational programs, including continuous training courses, in collaboration with the Association of Private Practitioners. Previously, the KMA organized a musculoskeletal ultrasound training course for resigned residents, recruiting 200 participants. The course registration closed within two hours, demonstrating strong interest from residents.

Im Jin-su, the KMA's Director of Planning, said, "We plan to actively support residents by cooperating with the Association of Private Practitioners to provide diverse opportunities for career exploration, learning, and experience."
