Yang Jae-woong's 'Patient Death Accident'... Backlash Spreads to Brother Yang Jae-jin Following Hani
It was confirmed on the 31st that Yang Jae-jin, the elder brother of psychiatrist Yang Jae-woong, who runs a hospital where a patient died, has switched his social media account to private. It appears that a flood of malicious comments related to the patient death incident has occurred.
Earlier, the Wonmi Police Station in Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province, announced that a woman in her 30s, Ms. Park, died at the hospital operated by Yang Jae-woong at 3 a.m. on May 27. Ms. Park was hospitalized for treatment of addiction to diet pills containing narcotic substances.
CCTV footage clearly showed a nursing assistant and a caregiver entering and forcibly restraining Ms. Park’s hands, feet, and chest to the bed. Ms. Park died after about two hours of being tied up, with a swollen abdomen and a nosebleed.
After the incident became known, Yang Jae-woong apologized on the 29th through his agency, saying, "Regarding the incident that occurred during the hospital process, I and all the medical staff cannot hide our deep sorrow, and we sincerely apologize to the deceased and the bereaved family who are grieving the loss."
Despite Yang Jae-woong’s apology, public opinion remains cold. The social media account of singer Hani, who announced her marriage to Yang Jae-woong, is also flooded with criticism. Netizens are posting sharp comments such as "Birds of a feather flock together," "A person died and you announce your marriage?", "Creepy. Don’t even think about appearing on TV," and "You should apologize too."
