Busan City announced on the 31st that, together with the Korea Tourism Organization and Busan Tourism Organization, it will host the ‘2024 Byeolbada Busan Night Festa’ throughout the entire city until October.
The city will showcase the unique charm of Busan’s nights in various forms through a wide range of nighttime programs, befitting its reputation as the top night tourism city in Korea.
Having started as a national government project, the Night Festa has established itself as Busan’s signature night tourism content. By strategically linking the International Tourism City Project and the Night Tourism Specialized City Project, the event aims to create synergy for the revitalization of Busan’s night tourism.
The main content of the Night Festa, the ‘2024 Byeolbada Busan Night Music Camknic,’ returns with even more enhanced programs this year following last year’s enthusiastic response. From August 9, for three weeks, Dadaepo Beach Park will offer a romantic midsummer night picnic blended with music.
The Night Festa is expanding the spectrum of Busan’s night tourism by combining dazzling nighttime attractions such as the well-known M Drone Light Show and Fireworks Festival with trendy programs under the concept of small and medium-sized ‘participatory and experiential night tourism.’
From the planning stage, strategic locations such as Yongdusan Park, Suyeong River, and Dadaepo have been selected to craft tourism content infused with story and emotion.
In addition, by incorporating ‘hip’ trends tailored to the sensibilities of the 2030 MZ generation, the event has successfully operated participatory and experiential night tourism content over the past two years, including the Night Music Camknic, MZ popular character collaboration night pop-up stores, and tavern-themed night markets, proving the strength of ‘night tourism content.’
The Night Music Camknic is an emotional picnic with a city camping concept, blending music with the ‘Camknic’ (a portmanteau of camping and picnic) trend popular among the MZ generation, adapted into a nighttime content format.
The venue, Dadaepo Beach, is emerging as a representative sunset spot and hot place in Busan, nicknamed ‘Dadaekinabalu’ by netizens, comparing it to Kota Kinabalu in Malaysia, one of the world’s top three sunset destinations.
Dadaepo, with its spectacular long sandy beach, offers a tranquil charm perfect for emotional healing, in contrast to the dazzling cityscape sea views of East Busan.
The Night Music Camknic will be held a total of six times on August 9-10, 16-17, and 23-24. Each week, visitors can enjoy musicians from various genres, including crossover, indie music, and emotional vocals.
Right next to the event venue, at the 1st Lawn Square, the Korea Tourism Organization Busan-Ulsan Branch will simultaneously host the ‘Summer Travel Show,’ where visitors can purchase products from resident companies of the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam Tourism Enterprise Support Center and Tourism Dure community businesses, and enjoy a variety of experiences for a fun midsummer night.
This event is free to attend, but purchasing a ticket in advance allows visitors to enjoy a more pleasant Camknic with cold beer, towels, and table rentals on site.
A Busan Tourism Organization official said, “This year’s Night Music Camknic is packed with programs that capture the charm of Dadaepo, a previously underrated attraction in West Busan. In addition, the Night Festa will continue to present night content full of Busan’s unique nighttime charm, so we ask for your interest and participation.”

Busan City was selected for Korea’s first International Tourism City Project (2020-2025), followed by the Night Tourism Specialized City Project (International Landmark Type/2023-2026), and is now emerging as a ‘global night tourism city.’
The ‘Byeolbada Busan Night Festa,’ the city’s concentrated night tourism program period, marks its third edition this year and will offer even more diverse and unique participatory night tourism content throughout Busan until October.
