Prosecutors Request Arrest Warrant for Lawyer on 'Tzuyang Extortion' Charges

An arrest warrant has been requested for a lawyer accused of threatening YouTuber Jjuyang (real name Park Jung-won) and extorting money from her.

The Criminal Division 5 of Suwon District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor Cheon Dae-won) filed a pre-arrest warrant request on the 30th against lawyer Choi Mo on charges including extortion.

Lawyer Choi is suspected of extortion against Jjuyang, aiding and abetting the extortion crime committed by YouTuber Gujeyeok against Jjuyang, and coercion against A, the former CEO of Jjuyang's previous agency and her ex-boyfriend.

Earlier, Jjuyang claimed, "Fearing retaliation from lawyer Choi, who knows about my past, I signed a torture contract and paid 23 million won." She recently filed a complaint against lawyer Choi with the prosecution.

Additionally, the prosecution requested a pre-arrest warrant on charges including aiding and abetting extortion against YouTuber Karakula (real name Lee Se-wook), who is suspected of aiding Gujeyeok in extorting Jjuyang.

Karakula is also accused of conspiring with Gujeyeok to extort 52 million won from another internet broadcaster (BJ) B.
