Sales of 142 billion KRW and 46.5% market share in the first half of this year
Unchallenged No.1 in the domestic market since 2022
'S8 MaxV Ultra' launched in April drives sales
Global robot vacuum cleaner company Roborock ranked first in the domestic robot vacuum cleaner market share in the first half of this year.
According to Roborock on the 30th, based on the aggregated results from a global market research firm, Roborock recorded total sales of 142 billion KRW and a market share of 46.5% in the robot vacuum cleaner market in the first half of this year. Its market share in the robot vacuum cleaner segment priced above 1.5 million KRW was 65.7%.
Roborock has firmly maintained the number one position in the domestic robot vacuum cleaner market for three consecutive years since 2022. Last year, it achieved annual sales of 200 billion KRW and a market share of 35.5%. Roborock explained that it retained the top spot this year by launching new products suited to consumers’ living and cleaning environments based on outstanding technological capabilities and by conducting various online and offline marketing activities.
In particular, the 2024 flagship model released last April, the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra, appears to have driven sales. The Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra features powerful vacuuming and mopping functions and is the first Roborock product to include a unique edge cleaning function. When it recognizes corners within the cleaning space, the flexi-arm side brush automatically extends to thoroughly suction dust. The rotating extra edge mop precisely cleans spaces within 1.68mm of wall edges. Additionally, it introduced an all-in-one dock that automatically maintains and manages the device without human contact, and the first-ever 'direct water supply station' in Roborock products that automatically replaces cleaning water, earning strong consumer approval.
Along with the flagship model launch this year, Roborock also strengthened customer service (CS). The after-sales service (AS) network expanded from the existing 18 Roborock AS centers by adding a total of 334 Hi-Mart AS reception points, reaching 352 locations in total. Furthermore, Roborock offers free repair services for two years, a 'door-to-door' pick-up service for consumers who find it difficult to visit in person, and a professional installation service for customers purchasing direct water supply products.
Currently, Roborock offers a diverse product lineup including premium robot vacuum cleaners, robot vacuum cleaners at various price points, and cordless wet-dry vacuum cleaners. As of this month, it is present in 416 offline stores, including 27 department store outlets, Hi-Mart, and Homeplus. On the 18th, Roborock opened its first flagship store in Korea at Starfield Hanam, expanding consumer touchpoints.
Kim Seo-young, Head of Marketing for Roborock Korea, said, "We are grateful that Roborock has achieved the number one sales position for three consecutive years thanks to the great interest and support from consumers." She added, "Going forward, Roborock will continue to introduce products that provide differentiated cleaning experiences based on innovative technology and reliability."
