Upon receiving the report, the coastal rescue boat from Gochang Police Station safely transported six crew members, excluding the captain, to Gyema Port in Yeonggwang, Jeonnam.
Subsequently, the arriving Coast Guard rescue team conducted an underwater inspection of boat A’s hull and determined that the damage was a crack rather than a hole, judging that self-navigation was possible.
Under the Coast Guard’s safety management, the captain personally steered boat A and safely docked at Gushipo Port around 9 a.m. The health condition of all seven rescued crew members is reported to be good.
The Coast Guard plans to investigate the detailed circumstances of the accident based on the statements of the crew members.
