On the 27th (Korean time), the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee released a group photo of the South Korean delegation participating in the Paris Olympics opening ceremony, which will be held along the Seine River area in Paris, France, through its official social media channels.

The photo featured about 40 athletes and officials, including the male and female flag bearers, Woo Sang-hyeok (athletics) and Kim Seo-young (swimming). Wearing the opening ceremony uniforms, the athletes held the Taegeukgi flag and expressed their excitement and determination as they prepared to participate in the ceremony.

The Korean delegation, consisting of 206 athletes and officials competing in 21 sports, will have only about 50 members attending the opening ceremony. Swimmers, badminton players, and fencers who will compete starting the next day will not participate in the ceremony. According to the French alphabetical order, Korea will enter 48th among the 206 participating countries.

This opening ceremony will be held as an outdoor water event for the first time ever. A total of 7,500 athletes from 206 countries will be divided among 85 boats, departing from the Austerlitz Bridge and proceeding along approximately a 6 km section of the Seine River to the Trocad?ro Square near the Eiffel Tower, where they will hold a water parade.
