Muan-gun Gains Attention with Introduction of Stay-Type Programs for Returning Farmers and Settlers

Awarded Excellence Prize at the '2024 Daehanminguk Return-to-Farming and Return-to-Village Happiness Expo'

Moan-gun, Jeollanam-do, recently gained attention by receiving an Excellence Award in recognition of its active participation in promoting the attraction of return-to-farm and return-to-village migrants at the ‘2024 Korea Return-to-Farm and Return-to-Village Happiness Expo.’

According to the county on the 26th, the expo was held for four days from the 19th to the 22nd at KINTEX in Ilsan, serving as a venue that provided various information and support to those wishing to return to farming and rural living.

During the expo, Moan-gun operated a consultation booth to introduce urban residents to programs that allow them to directly experience rural life in Moan, such as the Moan-gun Stay-Type Return-to-Farmers’ House and agricultural practice training.

In addition, the county provided various information about life and the farming environment in Moan and conducted customized consultations for prospective returnees. Notably, by introducing Moan’s representative festival, the Lotus Flower Festival, local tourist attractions, and specialty products, it had the opportunity to widely promote the charm of Moan.

Kim Hyang-geum, Director of the Rural Support Division, stated, “Moan-gun will continue to make efforts to offer diverse support programs for those wishing to return to farming. We will expand support through various channels to raise awareness and revitalize return-to-farm and return-to-village migration among urban residents.”

Moan-gun plans to continue its promotional activities to attract return-to-farm and return-to-village migrants, contributing to the development and revitalization of the local rural area.
