Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Pil-hyung) announced on the 26th that it will operate bottled water refrigerators at seven popular walking trails from the 25th until the end of next month.

As one of the district's heatwave prevention measures to protect residents from heat-related illnesses during this unusually hot summer, the 'Healing Refrigerator' can be found at ▲ Baebongsan (2 units) ▲ Jungnangcheon Embankment Walking Trail (3 units) ▲ Jeongneungcheon Walking Trail (1 unit) ▲ Seongbukcheon Walking Trail (1 unit).

Bottled water is replenished three times a day (10 a.m., 2 p.m., and 5 p.m.), with each refrigerator stocked with 300 bottles (300ml and 500ml) per refill. To prevent indiscriminate use, members of the district's autonomous disaster prevention team distribute the water.

A district official stated, “We ask residents to actively participate in separating and disposing of empty PET bottles after drinking the water,” and added, “Operation may be temporarily suspended depending on weather conditions, such as rainy days.”
