Damyang-gun Launches Campaign to Practice Carbon Neutrality in Daily Life

Jeonnam Province and Joint 'Han Nal Han Si, Learn and Jupging' Campaign

On the 25th, Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Lee Byeong-no) announced on the 26th that it conducted the "One Day One Time, Learn and Plog" campaign, which involved walking while picking up trash around the Gwanbangjerim area.


The campaign is part of the Jeonnam-type Ecological Learning City project by the Jeonnam Talent Lifelong Education Promotion Institute, aimed at promoting carbon neutrality in residents' daily lives and attracting the 33rd United Nations Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP33) to Jeonnam. This initiative has been ongoing for two years.

The campaign is being held throughout July in 10 selected cities and counties. In Damyang-gun, residents interested in the environment, members of the Happiness Learning Center and lifelong learning clubs, as well as students from local community child centers participated.


On the day, participants cleaned the Gwanbangjerim area for two hours, striving to create a clean environment.


Meanwhile, the Humanities Education Team of Damyang-gun plans to conduct the "Level 1 Environmental Change Education Specialist Training Course" and the second session of "Zero Waste in Daily Life" between September and October, and will launch a recycling campaign in front of Juknokwon on October 16 to build a sustainable eco-city Damyang.
